The entrepreneurs at UM Graphics enlisted our help to build an application that would allow Internet users to design their own wine labels, and those wine labels would then be placed on bottles of wine before shipping them to the customer. This application was sold to 67 Wine, a wineseller in New York. 67winecouture.com is the result of these efforts.

Their Needs.

The requirements for the wine labeling application were daunting, with the need to build graphics on the server based on real-time customer specifications. The application would need to attach to a wineseller's data in order to pair the correctly shaped wine label with each bottle of wine. In addition to the application's requirements, 67 Wine would also need to have each order securely emailed to them, requiring the use of PGP encryption on the server.

Our Solution.

We developed the application to the client's specifications, including an eCommerce portion written specifically for this application. The labels are built and displayed to the end user in a low resolution format, and then built for the wineseller in high resolution later for printing. Customers can upload their own graphics to be placed on the wine label, or they can choose from many predesigned labels. The shopping cart and user management portions were built specifically for this application.
